Portrait of Nikki P. Woods

Women's Mental Health Leader.
Therapist. Founder. Author.

For more than two decades, I've listened to women describe the quiet ways they lose sight of themselves — through responsibility, motherhood, achievement, relationships, caregiving, and the long, steady pressure to keep going.

They arrive in my office articulate and accomplished. They can name what's wrong in everyone else's life with startling precision. But when I ask how they're doing, there's a long silence — because no one has asked in a very long time, including them.

I built my work around that silence.
